The Tax Collector’s Office is newly established. Previously, tax collection was provided by the county government. In 2018, Florida voters approved Amendment 10 to our state constitution, which mandated every county in the state independently elect its own tax collector.
This important change allows voters to have greater control and accountability in managing crucial services. These are services that touch every person across Broward, and having an elected tax collector means that we now have a direct accountable leader at the helm, working for the people.
The Tax Collector’s Office works to strengthen public trust and ensure that every dollar collected is put to its highest and best use.
